October’s NTHS Honor Roll inductee comes from a newer chapter and helped her school put together their very first induction ceremony. Please join us in recognizing Jenifer Moore from Alamo Heights High School in San Antonio, TX!

Her NTHS Advisor had this to say when nominating her:

“This is our first year to have a National Technical Honor Society at our school and Jenifer helped coordinate our first induction ceremony. She took the lead on decorations and helping to plan the order of speakers and organized the certificate handout. Jenifer is also the president of our TAFE organization. She has taken on many roles during her senior year which is not normally something seniors want to do especially after they have already been accepted to the University of their choice. The sponsors of the NTHS are all amazed at her dedication and commitment to making the first induction ceremony memorable.”

As she moves on to college, we asked Jenifer to reflect on her CTE and NTHS experiences in high school. Here’s what she had to say:

Why is Career and Technical Education important to you?

“Career and Technical Education is important to me because it is the future of all of America! It brings out all of the hardworking people in America and helps them figure out what they truly want to do with their future!!”

Why is NTHS important to you?

“NTHS is important to me because it recognizes students jumpstarting on their career path! It truly recognizes students for all the hard work and dedication they put in all the years for!”

What are some of the NTHS chapter activities that you’ve participated in?

“I was my school’s NTHS chapter Secretary and this year all we could afford was our Induction Ceremony but I designed the Stage, Program, Decorations, and more! It truly showed my organization side and made all of my other members proud!”

What advice would you give current students on how to make the most out of their CTE experience?

“Some advice I would give current students when it comes to their CTE experience is to put yourself out there and experience everything! Sometimes it may seem like events are going to be boring or that they are not mandatory but those kind of things always seem to be the best because you meet amazing like-minded people like you!”

How has NTHS impacted your chapter members?

“NTHS has impacted my chapter members by helping us get into big colleges and helping us get scholarships to further our education. It also brought us together and helped us make lasting memories and friends.”

Tell us a little about yourself. Your family? Your pets? Your hobbies and interests?

“I am attending Tarleton State University and I will be pursuing a degree in Elementary Education. I come from a family of 5 and I am following my mom’s footsteps by becoming a teacher. I love to spend time with my family, sing, go fishing, and be outdoors.”

Whether a chapter is brand new or has been with us since our founding, all NTHS chapters help develop students like Jenifer. We are so proud to have her in the NTHS family!
