When Lane Robinson established the NTHS chapter at St. Clair County Technical Education Center (TEC) in Marysville, Michigan, he had no idea the incredible journey it would take him on.

“NTHS has been an amazing journey for me over the last 12 years as our advisor. It has allowed me to form so many lifelong connections with students and watch them grow into incredible citizens, especially my officers. NTHS has enabled our school to focus on giving back to our community year after year. We have raised over $50,000 for our local charity, KIDS IN DISTRESS, Inc., and donated hundreds of truckloads of clothing and high-need items to them. NTHS has truly helped our students understand the importance of giving back and serving our community,” he said.

Mr. Robinson documents all the wonderful activities at TEC on his social media channels, @mr.robinson.tec and @stclairtec.

2023 NTHS Silver Star Awards on Stage

With 28 years of experience as a counselor, Mr. Robinson credits Career and Technical Education (CTE) for giving students the opportunity to explore the world and discover their potential.

“I love how CTE focuses on careers, not just the steps toward graduation, which is really just the first step—not the end goal. CTE prepares students for the jobs and careers that will support them for the rest of their lives, while also fostering personal growth and self-exploration. CTE education is truly a shortcut to preparing students to become productive citizens in our communities.”

Mr. Robinson has been married for 22 years, and he and his wife enjoy traveling and spending time with their pet bunnies.

Thank you, Mr. Robinson, for investing in TEC students and teaching them the importance of giving back to their community.
