Share the Honor - CTE Month Preparation

February is right around the corner, and it's time to start thinking about how you can celebrate CTE Month. A great way to celebrate is to recognize an impactful individual in your CTE community with an Honorary Membership into NTHS.

Awarding someone with an Honorary NTHS Membership is a great way to thank them and bring awareness to CTE, your chapter, and your programs.

 

Honorary members receive a custom certificate, frame, an honorary membership pin, and a letter of congratulations from our Executive Director!

 

To recognize an honorary member in your community during CTE month, log in to the advisor portal and click "Register Honorary Members."

New Year, New You!

Can you believe it’s almost 2023? The end of another year is always a great time to reflect on the year you’ve had and create some goals for your future! Here are three great ideas to move your students and NTHS Chapter into 2023:

 

1. Help NTHS members craft SMART career goals as New Year's Resolutions to prepare them for their next step. Use this worksheet to walk them through the SMART Goal writing process.
2. Use NTHS’ Career Readiness Portal (CRP) as a tool that can help students along each step of the Career Development process. From resume-building to interest assessments and micro-credentials, students can use CRP tools to better prepare for their future careers.
3. Brainstorm with your NTHS Members how to achieve the Silver Star of Excellence Award and plan to apply for the award for your chapter. Download the application documentation here.

New NTHS Honor Roll Inductee!

This month's NTHS Honor Roll inductee embodies the dedication and work ethic that students develop as they prepare for their careers through CTE. Jakira Smith is an NTHS member at Oconee Fall Line Technical College studying accounting. 

 

When nominating Jakira, Tracy Smith says: 

"Jakira is a mother of one, and somehow still found time to maintain a 4.0 GPA at her local college since her freshman year; while still having time to give back to the community, make time for friends and family and maintain the household... She always made time for everything within her life, and I think this award would be an honor for her to have."

Who should be recognized next?

Is there someone who has made a significant impact on your NTHS chapter? Consider nominating them for the NTHS Honor Roll! Nominees can be NTHS members, advisors, principals, counselors, business partners, NTHS staff, and any other individual you think deserves recognition. 

Advisors, please remind your students that they must be logged into the NTHS Portal to apply for scholarships. If your students cannot remember their password, they can reset their password using the link below.

National Office Holiday Hours

Our office will be closed for the Holidays from December 19th through January 1st. We look forward to serving our members and advisors in the new year!

 

Advisors, please note if your school is closed for the holidays and you need an order shipped to your home, just change the "Ship To" address at checkout and type in "Residential Address" in the Customer Notes field. Make sure you get your order in before 2 PM EST on December 16th to receive it before January 2023.

Advisors can request a sales quote before checking out to provide to your budget manager. Simply add items to your shopping cart, click "View Cart" and choose the "Advisors: Sales Quote" button. Print the Sales Quote PDF and submit it to your bookkeeper to obtain a PO and place an order.

Please note that advisors must be logged into the NTHS Portal to add student memberships to the cart for a Sales Quote.
