New Year: New NTHS Chapter Goals
Chapter Awards Program - Get the recognition that your chapter deserves!
As the new year unfolds, it’s the perfect time to set fresh goals for your NTHS chapter and take your program to new heights. The NTHS Chapter Awards Program offers an excellent opportunity to showcase your chapter’s dedication to excellence while fostering growth among your members. Rooted in the NTHS Core Four Objectives—career development, leadership, service, and recognition—this program is designed to guide your chapter toward meaningful achievements and celebrate your hard work.
Why Participate in the Chapter Awards Program?
- Set Clear Goals: The structured application process helps chapters focus on the Core Four Objectives, ensuring that activities align with the values of NTHS.
- Gain Recognition: Achieve well-deserved recognition for your chapter’s efforts, building pride among members, advisors, and the school community.
- Encourage Member Engagement: Motivate students to participate in leadership, service, and career development initiatives.
- Strengthen CTE Advocacy: Highlight your chapter’s impact on promoting Career and Technical Education (CTE) within your school and beyond.
Three Tiers of Recognition
- Foundational Chapter Award
Start strong by meeting the foundational criteria that establish your chapter’s commitment to NTHS values. With no written responses required, this level is perfect for chapters beginning their journey toward excellence.
- Silver Star of Excellence Award
Take it to the next level by demonstrating a comprehensive commitment to the Core Four Objectives. This level requires a full application, showcasing your chapter’s diverse activities and initiatives.
- Core Four Excellence Awards
Compete for the highest honor as one of four chapters recognized for exceptional contributions in career development, leadership, service, or recognition. This award highlights chapters that exemplify the very best of what NTHS represents.

Celebrate CTE Month: Make February Unforgettable!
February is CTE Month—a perfect time to spotlight Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs and all the amazing things your school is accomplishing. As part of the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS), you can join the celebration by planning exciting activities that showcase the impact of CTE.
Here are some ideas to help you get started:
1. Honorary Membership Recognize someone special with an Honorary NTHS Membership! This thoughtful gesture includes a personalized certificate, a custom frame, a membership pin, and a letter from our Executive Director. Nominate someone who has made a difference in your community or school.
2. Service Project Community service is one of the NTHS Core Four Objectives, making CTE Month a great time to give back. Use your CTE skills to make a difference! Build something for the community, prepare meals for those in need, create a marketing campaign for a nonprofit, or assist with activities at a local library. The possibilities are endless!
3. Social Media Spotlights Social media is a powerful tool for spreading the word about CTE. Share stories, photos, and achievements from your CTE programs using hashtags like #NTHSisCTE, #CTEMonth, and #CTEinAction. Encourage fellow students, teachers, and alumni to share their experiences and show their CTE pride. Feel free to share the official NTHS Social Media posts, too!
4. Celebrate Together Coordinate with your school to host events that bring your CTE community together. Plan a spirit day, create a showcase of student projects, or invite local businesses to highlight how CTE skills connect to real-world careers.
Don’t forget to share what your chapter is doing to celebrate! Your activities might be featured on our social media or the NTHS Blog. Let’s make this CTE Month one to remember!
