Kickstart the New Year by planning an epic CTE Month with NTHS!

Plan Now for CTE Month in February!
CTE Month happens in February, and it's a time to give a big shout-out to CTE programs and all the cool stuff your CTE programs are achieving. As a part of the National Technical Honor Society, you can join in the fun by planning some awesome activities during February.
Here are a few ideas:
- Honorary Membership: You can make someone feel super special by giving them an Honorary NTHS Membership. They'll get a cool certificate, a fancy frame, a special membership pin, and a letter from our Executive Director.
- Wear your NTHS CTE Month T-Shirt: If you ordered a CTE Month T-Shirt, coordinate a day to wear it the same time as students and staff at your school! If you don't have a CTE Month T-Shirt, wear your Classic NTHS Shirt to show off your NTHS and CTE Pride.
- Skills Competition: Host a competition where students can show off their skills in things like welding, fixing cars, or cooking. It's a fun way to see who's the best at what they do.
- Service Project: One of the National Technical Honor Society Core Four Objectives is community service, so why not use CTE Month as an opportunity to give back to the community? Use your CTE skills to help build a playground, cook for people in need, create a social media campaign for a charity, or help out at a library with activities for little kids.
- Guest Speakers: Invite professionals from different industries to talk to students about their jobs and help expose them to career paths of which they may not be aware. It's a great way to get inspired and see how CTE skills are used in the real world.
- Career Fair: Invite local businesses and organizations to come and share information about their industries and the types of jobs that are available. This can be a great opportunity for students to learn about different career paths and make connections with potential employers.
- Social Media Fun: Use social media to share CTE stories and achievements. Encourage students, teachers, and everyone else to share their own CTE experiences using hashtags like #NTHSisCTE, #CTEMonth, and #CTEinAction.
Don't forget to let us know what you're up to for CTE Month in your Chapter. We might feature your activities on social media or our NTHS Blog!

Announcing The NTHS ASE Endorsement!
NTHS is joining forces with the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) to enhance recognition for Career & Technical Education (CTE) students enrolled in automotive, collision, and diesel programs.
The newly introduced ASE Endorsement provides students in these programs with industry-specific recognition for their performance in the automotive-related field.
This endorsement can be added to existing or newly inducted NTHS members who are enrolled in an ASE-accredited program and have passed at least one ASE Entry Level Certification in the area of accreditation. Endorsed members gain access to various regalia options, scholarships, benefits, and resources offered exclusively through NTHS membership.
Endorsed members are automatically entered for a chance to win a $500 scholarship in addition to their standard NTHS benefits. To qualify, students must meet NTHS eligibility requirements, be enrolled in an ASE-accredited automotive, collision, or diesel program, and pass at least one ASE Entry Level Certification relevant to their program.

Career and technical education offers so much diversity and opportunity for students. CTE prepares students for high skill, high wage positions and students get that training from teachers like Monique Robinson-Poole, from Maryland’s Robert D. Stethem Educational Center.
Monique has been an NTHS advisor since 2018 when she was offered the opportunity to help with the induction ceremony.
“I was honored, and thoroughly impressed with NTHS. I took over the following year and it has been a very rewarding experience. I am grateful that I have an opportunity to introduce new learners, and staff to NTHS,” she said.
As a part of the NTHS program, Stethem Educational Center students prioritize community service. Students participate in community-based organization efforts and volunteerism. Students also participate in leadership development and work-based learning.
