Celebrating Career and Technical Education Month! Happy CTE Month®! The Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) established this public awareness campaign that takes place each February to celebrate the value of Career and Technical Education (CTE), and the achievements and accomplishments of CTE programs in secondary and post-secondary schools across the country.
From ACTE, "CTE is education that directly prepares students for high-wage, high-demand careers. CTE covers many different fields, including health care, information technology, advanced manufacturing, hospitality and management and many more..." We literally need CTE to keep the world running, and it doesn't seem like a month is nearly long enough to celebrate the people who teach and work in the skilled trades!
So what does CTE mean to YOU? And how are you celebrating CTE Month? Email us and let us know! Learn More and Get Involved! Learn the Basic Facts

"I believe that CTE prepares students in the soft and hard skills, but they also inspire students to learn more about their fields. It goes back to the concept of practice. Practice is used as a trainer in not only sports, but in life. You turn weaknesses into strengths through practice. You perfect a craft through practice... This idea was instilled into me through CTE, and it is what has best prepared me for work in a technical field." Alexander Everitt "It was always hard for me to stay motivated in my classes, where I felt like I was learning things just because I had to. Once CTE came into my life, I was able to learn things that I directly saw a purpose for, and I gained a new sense of inspiration. School is great but CTE is where I, like many other students, really found my passion." Lindsey Millerd To read more of Lindsey's NTHS story, click here.
