No matter what career you’re considering, business skills matter. In Business, Marketing, and Finance pathways, students learn how to communicate clearly, manage money, solve problems, and turn ideas into action.
This pathway is a great fit if you like leading projects, thinking creatively, or learning how companies and people work together. From running student businesses to creating marketing plans or learning financial basics, you’ll build skills that transfer to any career field.
January is the perfect time to set career goals for this semester, explore certifications and work-based learning opportunities, or get involved in leadership, competitions, or service projects connected to your pathway.

$1,000 Scholarship for Work-Ready Students
|
Open February 2 - March 6, 2026
|
The Rubin America’s Next Great Intern is a FREE national contest that challenges students’ work-readiness skills such as professional communication and research. It is open to CTE and project-based students, with a $1,000 scholarship awarded to the top participant.

Chapter Highlight: Washington High School
|
Turning Service into Real-World Career Skills
|
The National Technical Honor Society chapter at Washington High School in Charles Town, WV has demonstrated how meaningful service can also serve as powerful career preparation. Throughout the school year, students led and participated in a wide range of community service initiatives that required planning, budgeting, communication, teamwork, and logistical coordination, all skills central to business, marketing, and finance pathways.

|
Students began the year by identifying local needs through brainstorming sessions and community outreach, then organizing service projects with clear goals and timelines. One of the chapter’s most impactful efforts included collaborating with the school’s Key Club to host the Autumn Amazement community gathering. This large-scale event required students to coordinate volunteers, manage supplies, promote the event, and oversee activities that drew hundreds of attendees.

The Members also focused on addressing food insecurity and community wellness. Students partnered with local leaders to deliver food bags to families in need and volunteered time and resources to prepare and serve meals at the Charles Town Moose Lodge. READ MORE>>
