Happy Valentine's Day and Happy CTE Month! What better time to declare our love for Career & Technical Education Month?!
Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month is celebrated annually in the United States during the month of February to recognize and promote the value of CTE programs. The first manual training school was established in St. Louis, Missouri in 1879, setting the foundation for modern CTE. The history of CTE also includes federal legislation, starting with the Smith-Hughes Act of 1917 and continuing with subsequent versions of federal legislation.

Over the years, CTE Month has become a nationwide celebration, with schools, educators, and businesses coming together to raise awareness about the benefits of CTE education. CTE programs are designed to prepare students for a variety of career paths by offering hands-on, practical learning experiences in a range of industries such as healthcare, engineering, finance, and many more. During this month, schools, colleges, and universities host events and activities to promote the importance of CTE and to educate the public about the variety of career options that CTE programs provide.
So what are you doing to celebrate?

NTHS Honor Roll: CTE Month Special Edition
CTE Month is a time to celebrate and recognize the achievements of students in nationwide CTE programs. This month, we are focusing on eight nationally recognized Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs): SkillsUSA, DECA, FCCLA, HOSA, TSA, BPA, FBLA and FFA.
These organizations offer valuable opportunities for students to enhance their skills, participate in hands-on experiences, and engage in leadership development and service projects. Thousands of NTHS members are also members of these CTSOs, and this Honor Roll is a recognition of their hard work both in and outside of the classroom.
NTHS is proud to offer exclusive scholarships for its members who are also members of FCCLA, DECA, FBLA, BPA, SkillsUSA, and HOSA. These scholarships are made possible through NTHS' partnerships with these organizations.
