Message from the Executive Director
I hope you enjoyed a wonderful, relaxing summer that helped you recharge and be ready for a new year. I have always loved the beginning of the school year - it’s a fresh start, an opportunity to create a brand-new experience for your students. This summer, I was fortunate enough to attend several CTSO conferences and meet so many wonderful students. One of the most inspirational and profound takeaways was the impact you, their teachers, had on these students. You’ve blown us away through the stories they shared - your creativity, your compassion, your commitment, your tenacity, and your heart. You’ve not only taught lessons, but you’ve also moved mountains for these young minds to help them achieve their dreams and their goals.

Thank you for all that you do and for letting us be a part of your journey to empower all students to pursue the skills needed to build their careers and the global workforce.

Teamwork Makes the Dream Work
There is no limit to the number of NTHS advisors you can have at your school.
With the school year just beginning, we wanted to give you a quick reminder on the importance of adding a co-advisor (or two or three – or more) to assist you.
The old saying “Many Hands Make Light Work” certainly applies here! No one person has to be in charge of your NTHS chapter. Perhaps the primary advisor is responsible for entering the students to the database, and one co-advisor is responsible for planning the induction ceremony. Another advisor could be in charge of ordering graduation regalia. You get the idea.
Having other advisors ready to step in should the primary advisor need to step down is a very important consideration! Everyone’s goal is to recognize your students and we want to be sure that your chapter continues to stay active and thriving if the primary advisor departs.
If you are an existing advisor or co-advisor, you may update advisors when logged in to the secure advisor portal. Just click on the “Update Chapter Info” icon. You will see where you can add a key contact, as well as use the “trash can” icon on the right to delete advisors who are no longer there.
For a completely new slate of advisors who aren’t yet affiliated with your chapter, email Renee Frady or Carol Kaczmarek and provide the new advisor names and email addresses, and our team will take it from there. No need to submit a new charter application; just contact us and we’ll make it happen!

We will now be providing invoices electronically beginning this school year.
This is a response to the multiple requests we have received to streamline our process and provide digital invoices. This benefit will allow us to serve you better and saves cost on postage and mailing, demonstrating our commitment to efficient stewardship of resources and keeping our membership dues reasonable.
Once your order is processed, we will email the invoice to the advisor and financial contact (if provided). If you want to add a financial contact to your account, please email Lee Ann Corn with your school name and information.

New NTHS Honor Roll Inductee!
This month’s extra special NTHS Honor Roll spotlight is for our NTHS Chief Operating Officer, Kate Allen, who recently announced her well-deserved retirement! Since fall of 1999, Kate has worked in various roles within NTHS, ranging from Member Services to her current role as COO. She has committed over 45,000 hours to NTHS and has played an important role in recognizing over 911,000 students during her nearly 23 years of service. We hope that all of our NTHS members join us in wishing Kate a very happy retirement! Her impact on students across the country can't be overstated, and we are all so grateful to have had the opportunity to work by her side.

"What I always think of when I think of Kate is her laughter. I always know she is here when I hear her laughing. Whether it is with one of us here in the office or on the phone. I will miss that! We also share a love for cats!! We have had many conversations about our cats. She did tell me one time that when she retired she would love to volunteer at an animal shelter. So maybe she will get her chance."- Lee Ann Corn, Order Processing/Accounting Services
