Finish the Year Strong

You've Built Momentum All Year - Apply for Chapter Awards

As the school year begins to wind down, now is the time to finish strong and make sure the work your chapter has done all year is recognized. NTHS members have spent months building skills, leading projects, serving their communities, and representing their career pathways with pride. Those experiences deserve to be celebrated.

The Chapter Awards Program is one way to showcase that impact. This program recognizes chapters that demonstrate strong leadership, service, and member engagement throughout the year. If your chapter has completed projects, service activities, or events you’re proud of, talk with your NTHS advisor about submitting an application.

The deadline to apply is April 15, 2026, and there is still time to share the story of what your chapter has achieved. The finish line for the school year is getting closer, but there is still time to make an even bigger impact by getting the recognition your chapter deserves.

Product of the Month - NTHS Graduation Regalia

Make Your Achievement Visible on Graduation Day

Graduation is one of the most meaningful moments to celebrate your NTHS membership. Official NTHS graduation regalia allows you to proudly represent your achievement while highlighting the value of career and technical education in front of your family, school leaders, and community.

Each school handles regalia a little differently. Some chapters provide items for members as part of their recognition efforts, while others share ordering information so students can purchase their own.

As graduation season approaches, check with your advisor to learn how your chapter is handling NTHS regalia and what steps you need to take to be ready for the big day.

Chapter officers play an important role in building a strong NTHS chapter. From organizing activities to leading service projects and supporting fellow members, these students help shape the culture of their program.

Many chapters recognize their officers with NTHS medallions, giving student leaders a distinctive symbol of their role and service.

If you serve as a chapter officer, consider asking your NTHS advisor if your school plans to utilize medallions to recognize officers at graduation.

Career Pathway Spotlight

Audio/Visual Arts & Communications

Where Creativity Meets Competition

March brings competition, excitement, and unforgettable moments, and Audio/Visual Arts & Communications students are often the ones capturing and sharing the action. Through media production, sports marketing, and live event coverage, students build technical and creative skills while helping tell the story behind each event.

In this pathway, students gain hands-on experience filming games, producing highlight reels, managing social media promotion, and serving as announcers for school events. Along the way, they strengthen communication, teamwork, and project management skills that transfer across industries.

Tournament season creates a natural opportunity for advisors to connect classroom learning to real-world applications. Students can analyze marketing strategies, develop promotional content, or produce live coverage that showcases school spirit while building professional portfolios.

From broadcasting and digital media to sports marketing and communications careers, students learn that success in competition extends beyond the court. The work happening behind the camera and microphone plays an important role in creating the full experience.

Think about it:

  • Who tells the story behind the big moments at your school?
  • Could that be you?

Service in Action at Dodd City High School

Small Chapter Delivers Big Impact with Fund2Org Shoe Drive

At Dodd City High School in Northeast Texas, the National Technical Honor Society chapter is proving that impact is not determined by size. With just 15 active members in a district serving roughly 315–375 students, this small but dedicated chapter has achieved extraordinary results.

Last fall, members voted during a chapter meeting to participate in the NTHS National Shoe Drive Campaign through Funds2Orgs. They initially hoped to collect a few hundred pairs of gently used shoes. What followed became a powerful example of student leadership and community engagement.

After launching the drive-in late October and promoting it on school social media, community support quickly grew. A local Boy Scout troop contributed 15 bags of shoes from its own collection efforts, giving the chapter an early boost. As donations continued, the chapter extended the drive into the spring semester and used an extra classroom on campus to store the growing collection.

By the campaign’s conclusion on March 1, the 15-member chapter had collected nearly 38 bags, totaling approximately 925–950 pairs of shoes. They also received monetary donation from an anonymous community supporter. For a chapter of this size, collecting nearly 1,000 pairs of shoes is READ MORE>>
