3 Ways to Use Your Summer to Prepare for Your Future!

It's a great time to do some career planning & gain some experience!

1. Gain hands-on experience with an internship or apprenticeship!

Take a look through local job postings, talk to your parents, extended family & friends, and check with your school counselor/career development coordinator to see what opportunities are available. 

2. Create and update your resume!

If you don't already have a resume, it's time to get one started! Take a look at examples online, organize your experiences (academic, work, volunteer, etc) and skills, and create your first resume!  Already have a resume? Now is the perfect opportunity to update it with all the amazing activities and skills you've gained during this past school year. 

3. Use NTHS' Career Readiness Portal to explore career paths and plan your next steps!

Head over to NTHS' Career Readiness Portal page to gain access to personality & learning style assessments that will help match you to possible careers. Then, explore career pathways and postsecondary opportunities that match with your skills & interests. There are a plethora of resources to help you make decisions, plan, and organize your future!

Update Your Email

Log in to the NTHS Portal and update your email address with a personal email address so that you can continue to access your benefits after graduation (see #3 above!)

Nominate someone for the NTHS Honor Roll!

Is there someone who has made a big impact at your NTHS chapter? Consider nominating them for the NTHS Honor Roll! Nominees can be NTHS members, advisors, principals, counselors, business partners, NTHS staff, and any other individual that you think deserves the recognition.

Student Benefits 

All graduating members have access to their member benefits for six months after their graduation date. The Jon H. Poteat scholarship window re-opens on September 1 and current members will be able to apply, even if you are a graduating senior.
